DBS Bank – 2018 winner of the “Best Bank in the World” by Global Finance – signed a 10-year, S$27 million loan with egg producer Chew’s Agriculture to construct a new cage-free egg farm. Under the agreement, Chew’s will receive lower interest rates if it can achieve Humane Farm Animal Care standards, a leading global certification scheme endorsed by a number of animal welfare organizations. Chew’s produces approximately 500,000 eggs per day.
